On Our Way Home Today : )

Im sure this has been an exciting, romantic, and wonderful weekend and i can't wait to be home. Yesterday we spent most of the day shopping at some of the little shops they had there (il post pictures once we are home and get settled) one of those places being the christmas place, they have so many cute christmas decorations and you can get custom ornaments and all sorts of stuff. Ill have to fill you in on the rest of the weekend as soon as we are home and settled. I hope you guys have a great weekend and i look forward to catching up with everyone!

Today on November 1, 2009 marks our 1 year anniversary and here is a treat for you guys on us reflecting back on our special day a year ago : )

 

We Leave Tomorrow!

Im just bursting at the seems with excitment right now! I can't wait to get to the mountains and see all the leaves changing some of the cool night air : )

I got alot of things i needed to get done yesterday. I went to the grocery store and bought our groceries plus snacks and stuff for the trip and while we are there. Got my winter jacket (thanks mom!) and my shampoo, my mom didn't like hers so she gave it to me  (thanks mom again lol!)

Today im just washing clothes and packing up and getting ready for tomorrow so all we have to do is get up, get ready and leave! eeeek! i can't believe it its already been a year! ill update you guys on my progress as i go!

***UPDATE***

I have everything packed and ready to go and as soon as ryan gets home we are going to load up most of it so we dont have to worry about it tomorrow i just hope i dont forget anything!

Today Im Greatful For...

An amazing blogger friend Jessica who is sending me lots of positive thoughts and keeping me in her prayers through this difficult time : )

My family...backing me on my decision and trying to help me move on with my life. That and helping me start off in the right direction and just being down right crazy lol!

My crazy friend BLT for calling me and talking to me about fashion choices.... i never knew there was so much to think about. Such as a fingernail polish going with a shirt? and if she wears blue on her toes and pink on her fingers its going to remind a guy of cotton candy? The crazy times we have had and more to come.

Today has been a difficult day. Me and Ryan still aren't getting along to well. We are tyring to sort through who gets what and so on and thats not easy. Im planning on moving back in with my parents within the next two weeks. The only thing i can do from here is go up and this is my plan so far...

1. Finally get my GED since i have nothing holding me back.
2. Get my license
3. Get a job again
4. Get a car (i really dont want to drive my moms mini van lol)
5. Go to college and graduate

Ill update more as i go but those are my most important things right now outside of the healing process which will probably consist of lots of starbucks, late night talks with my BFF and lots and lots of girl time :)

A Day At The Fair : )

Show Us Your Life: Desserts

I just started this part of a blog. I had seen it before but wasn't sure if i could actually do it but i can so here we go : )


Today for Kelly's Korner show us your life is desserts.

One of my all time favorite desserts is Strawberry Shortcake. I must say when i make it i cheat. I do the mini shortcakes with the pre-made shells but it still taste just as good. Plus if your not so good at baking this is perfect because its a no bake recipe and whips up in no time!



**Recipe For Mini Strawberry Shortcakes:

What You'll need:

-pre-made shortcake shells

-fresh strawberries or frozen depends on your preference

-wipped cream or heavy cream

-strawberry glaze


Directions:

-remove the tops of the strawberries and then cut them into quarters. If frozen let thaw and cut if needed.

- after you have cut your strawberries your going to want to put them in a mixing bowl and pour in your strawberry glaze. (i normally refrigerate the glaze until im ready to use it so its nice and chilled.)

- once you have your strawberries and glaze mixed together you can take a spoon and put your strawberries and glaze into the shells. Or you can put the strawberries in the shells first then put the glaze. (you can use as much or little as you like.)

- after you have put the strawberries and glaze into the shells you can add your whipped cream or let your guests add their own.

Depending on how many people you are serving determines the amount of shells, strawberries and jars of glaze you will need.

**I reccomend using fresh strawberries and homemade whipped cream for this recipe but thats totally up to your preference.

Once Your Done It Should Look Like This:





Also here is a quick and easy recipe i use for homemade whipped cream:

1/2 pt. whipping cream
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Whip cream with mixer. Be careful not to overbeat or else will get too thick like butter. When it begins to thicken, add sugar and vanilla; stir. Refrigerate.

Happy Birthday Mom!

We actually did this a couple of weeks ago i just didn't notice i had a picture of it on my phone : )

August 28 was my moms birthday and i wanted to do something special for her. So i told her that i would just bring a cake over and we would just have a small family dinner. Well that plan didn't work because my step dad went hunting and it was just her and my sister and she didn't want to do anything. Well i wasn't going to let this get me down so then i came up with the idea to break into her house and set up a birthday surprise. With me having a plan i called my grandma to see if my little sister was with her so i could come pick her up and get a key. After i got my sister we made a trip to walmart to get a cake and some decorations and my moms present. We wound up getting her three roses and some eternity perfume. I had to make her detour home because she was going to get my sister dinner. Well she got home and opened the door (i forgot to lock it back) and was kinda freaking out because the house was unlocked and thats when we all stepped in the door way of the kitchen and she seen this:



Isn't her cake and candles just the cutest? We wanted to make her feel young again : )

WARNING: Cleaning In Progress!

This week is my "fall cleaning" week. Im throwing out what we dont use or just isn't any good, donating what is still good and selling what we can on craigslist. After i get everything clean and we have more room at the end of this week we are getting a new couch from my grandma. Since its a neutral color that means i can do any color in the living room, but for right now i think im just going to do fall colors and scents since fall is coming! I have a few decorating ideas and some new scents i love and more i want to try. Here are a few of my ideas and favorite scents : )

While i was on etsy i also fount these really cute fall coasters (im addicted to this site!)



I also get to go see what bath and body works has on sale this weekend and see if i can pick up some candles. I know for sure im going to get the sweet cinnamon pumpkin spray and candle but i think im going to try some new ones too like pumpkin patch, creamy nutmeg, spiced cider. Also im going to make a run to michaels arts and crafts store to pick up some new candles for my candle holders and maybe a few frames (got a 50% off entire purchase coupon) and then my normal trip to tj maxx home goods store to take a peek and see what they have : )

got a full weekend ahead of me and i can't wait to start it! Now im off to finish cleaning since i took a little break! Ill post the results once im done!

My New Goals : )

As of yesterday i no longer have a job but you know what thats ok. Im not going to let it drag me down because i have always had another job i just never looked at it as a job. Im now a housewife again and with that im going to set some goals for myself.

Since im going to be in the house most of the day i figured why not make the most of it. Starting on monday for the next week im going to work on some of the following:

1.) Clean out our dressers, entertainment center and other storage places we have
2.) Get ORGANIZED! Normally i am but here lately its just been bad. i need to find a system that works. (i need suggestions Jess!)
3.) Starting re decorating for fall and re arranging furniture & etc
4.) Start cooking more meals and eat out less


Im sure there are alot more that im missing and ill update the list as i go. but for now those are it and i think im going to get started today : )
